In 2016 the CIG began an engagement programme aimed at tackling modern slavery within the supply chains of listed companies. During this project 265 of the UK’s largest companies were contacted regarding the requirements placed upon them by the Modern Slavery Act. Our engagement encouraged companies to develop mechanisms to better understand and identify the risk of modern slavery occurring within their supply chain and develop policies and processes to address it.

This report provides further details on the first year of the project and how the companies responded.
